Volunteer Programs at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for 2012

Thank you for your interest in helping us here at  Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary!

Currumbin  Wildlife Sanctuary relies heavily upon the generous contribution of Volunteers  to support our daily operations. The Sanctuary receives no ongoing Federal or  State Government funding, and with the increasing demand and costs experienced  at our Wildlife Veterinary Hospital the support of our Volunteers is highly valued.

We  operate 3 Volunteer Programs for volunteers aged over 18 years, plus a Teen  Volunteer program, and each program suits a different style of Volunteer.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Volunteer Programs:

  1. Park Volunteers
  2. Wildlife Vet Hospital Volunteers
  3. Wildlife Volunteers
  4. Teen Volunteers

Please  read carefully through the summary of each program to see program is the best match  to your skills and interests, then click on the link for more details.

(Please  note this information covers Volunteering only, not  Work Experience. For details on our Work Experience program for 2012 please  return to the home page, click on the Orange ‘Education’ tab and look under the  ‘Work Experience’ section).

Application information

All  of our Volunteer programs require you to complete an interview process,  complete a training program and request payment of a program fee. This fee  covers the cost of training, training materials, a uniform shirt (and a hat if  the role requires working outdoors). Due to the cost and time taken for  training, ideally we are seeking people who are able to offer a 12 month  commitment to the selected volunteering program.

Note  that places within each program are limited and no guarantee of acceptance can  be given. Thank you for understanding that in order to protect both our animals  and Sanctuary operations, only people who complete the selection & training  program requirements can be accepted into the Volunteer programs.

To apply, please click on the  link to the Volunteer program you are interested in.
